This is long because it's 4 reviews in one, so you don't have to read them all at once, one at a time is fine by me (it increases the hits and stuff...heh)

Alkaline Trio is based out of Chicago, Illinois and started rocking the scene sometime in 1996. The original lineup consisted of Matt Skiba (guitar, vocals), Rob Doran (bass) and Glenn Porter (drums) and remained as such through the recording of the original 4 song demo (97, Nose Over Tail, Sundials, Weak Week), and the release of their first 7", Sundials (Johann's Face Records). Sometime (1997, I believe) before the release of the first 7" on Asian Man Records, For Your Lungs Only, Rob left the band and was replaced by Dan Andriano. It proved to be a hell-send for the band, as Dan has helped fulfill some of the song-writing duties since his inclusion in the Trio. The band continued on with the lineup of Matt, Dan and Glenn through the recording and release of Goddamnit (full length on Asian Man), I Lied My Face Off (ep/12" on Asian Man), Bye Bye Love (7" split w/ the Blue Meanies on Thick Records), Maybe I'll Catch Fire (full length on Asian Man), and finally Alkaline Trio (full length (sort of) on Asian Man...also of note, Glenn was gone at this point, and Mike was already in the band when MICF and the self-titled albums were released, but was not the drummer of record when MICF was put to tape). In December of 1999, Glenn took leave of the band (took leave, kicked out...whatever) and was replaced by Mike Felumlee (formerly of the Smoking Popes). The band, now established with their new lineup spent 2000 touring their asses off before heading into the studio to begin recording the tracks that would end up being their debut on Vagrant Records. The results can be heard in two astonishing releases, Hell Yes! (7" on Lookout! Records) and From Here to Infirmary (full length on Vagrant, release date is April 3 2001). The band is currently touring to support their new 7" and their upcoming album, and in may they will begin touring as one of the two opening bands on the Blink 182 tour.

A quick note ... this is a review of all Alkaline Trio full length releases, including the newest one which has yet to be released (again, thank you very much Jessie) ... so, you might want to grab a few beers and make sure you have a full pack of smokes, because this is gonna take a while (we all know how much I love to talk). Just remember, if you get bored, you're more than welcome to go watch television or something, just so long as you come back and finish reading.
